Police revealed Jiyeon Lee, Taehee Kim and Junghee Kim are missing

A family of three are all missing after traveling from the Grand Canyon amid extreme winter storms earlier this month, police have said.

On Wednesday, March 19,  the Coconino County Sheriff's Office shared a missing persons flyer on their Facebook page to seek more information about the whereabouts of Jiyeon Lee, 23, Taehee Kim, 69, and Junghee Kim, 64.

Per the post, the three were last seen traveling from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas on March 13. The Grand Canyon National Park shared at the time that winter storms had led to "hazardous conditions" in the area.

PEOPLE has contacted the Grand Canyon National Park for comment.

Officials say the individuals were driving in a 2024 white BMW rental car with a California license plate number of 9KHN768.

The report used vehicle GPS on the family's rental car to show that it was last recorded on Interstate 40 on March 13.

"Law enforcement is aware of the large multi-vehicle accident that occurred on I40 on this day, however, it is not known if this vehicle was involved in the accident," the report noted.

On March 14, the Arizona Department of Public Safety revealed in a press release that two people had died after a collision involving 22 vehicles, including 13 passenger vehicles on Interstate I40.

"A total of 36 drivers and occupants were involved in the incident, including two fatalities and 16 injured persons were transported for medical care," they wrote alongside a video of the aftermath, which was covered in ice and snow.

"These are the devastating results of the weather-related fatal collision on Interstate 40 near Williams yesterday, March 13, 2025," officials continued. "Unfortunately, troopers are currently investigating another deadly weather-related collision on I-40 near Holbrook."

Meanwhile, the Coconino County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who has been in contact with the missing family of three to contact since March 13 or knows their whereabouts to contact the department.
