Eva Longoria, 49, is discovering a new side of herself on the other side of the world.

In the trailer for the eight-part travel series Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain, the Desperate Housewives alum takes a culinary pilgrimage to the birthplace of her ancestors. With the picturesque valleys and unforgettable coastlines as the backdrop for the new show, Longoria will experience new delicacies as she savors the freshest, world-class ingredients.

"I didn't even know ducks had tongues!" the star exclaims after biting into the cuisine early in the trailer, giving viewers just a taste of what's to come in the series.

Longoria will venture to the most beautiful parts of Spain for each location's culinary staple: pintxos in San Sebastián, Catalan prawns in Barcelona, tortillas in Madrid, tapas and the world's most expensive jamón in Andalusia and blonde beef in Galicia. "Food makes me so happy," she says as she cries tears of joy from the myriad of flavors and the history packed in all of the tastes.

"Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for The New World and a new life," she says. "Four hundred years later, I'm back to see how the land and its people have created one of the world's most exciting cuisines."

Along with being introduced to the innovative dishes, the award-winning actor will also meet and literally break bread with long-lost family members during her visit to Asturias and the town of Longoria. "If you can preserve your food and your recipes, then you can teach the rest of the world who you are," she says.

Longoria currently splits her time living in Mexico and Spain with her husband José Bastón and their son, Santiago, 6. In a January 2025 interview with PEOPLE, she gushed about how much she loves the freshness of the food in Spain.

"There are supermarkets, but for the most part, you go and get what you're cooking from different places," she says. "And that it's just fresh. It's just healthy. It's clean. It's all local. It's always local. That tomato is literally from that farm right there. So I just love the clean eating of Spain."
