The actress stayed mum about details surrounding the upcoming film, but did share her hopes for the fashion
Emily Blunt is ready for the Devil Wears Prada sequel — and the fashion!
Speaking to PEOPLE on the red carpet at the American Institute for Stuttering Gala on Monday, Sept. 16, the actress, 41, briefly opened up about what she's most excited about regarding the follow-up to the 2006 cult classic comedy.
"It's cool," a smiling Blunt tells PEOPLE of returning to the franchise while adding that she's not fully at liberty to discuss the specifics of the project.
"Oh my God, I can't tell you anything."
However, the star could shed a bit of light on what she's looking forward to in the upcoming film.
"I just wanna get some good eye makeup going again," Blunt tells PEOPLE, jokingly adding that she may even get another stomach flu. "I'm hoping for that."
While at the American Institute for Stuttering 18th Annual Gala, Blunt explains to PEOPLE why the event is near and dear to her heart.
"I'm so invested," she says. "I struggled with a stutter most of my childhood, I have endless, bottomless empathy for people who go through it, and that kind of struggle, and I still feel there's not enough awareness about stuttering out there."
In The Devil Wears Prada, Blunt starred as Emily Charlton, the first assistant to the tyrant of an editor, Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep), at the prestigious (and fictional) Runway magazine.
Emily's load was lightened when Andrea "Andy" Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) joined as an assistant — and then her position was almost nonexistent when a stomach flu caused her to fall ill and forget important guest details at a black tie event.
In July, it was reported that TheDevil Wears Prada would be receiving a sequel produced by Wendy Finerman and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, per Puck News.

The film, based on the Lauren Weisberger book of the same name, went on to gross $326 million at the worldwide box office. Streep, 75, earned her 14th Academy Award nomination for her performance.
There aren't many details available about the sequel, but according to Puck, fans could see Priestly still running Runway magazine as she tries to navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape.
Entertainment Weekly added that Hathaway, 41, Blunt, Streep and Stanley Tucci were reportedly in discussions to reprise their characters.
The original cast members have reunited throughout the years, such as when the leading ladies came together on the SAG Awards stage in February 2024 to announce the winner of best male actor in a comedy series.

In September 2023, Hathaway and Streep posed for pictures together at the Clooney Foundation's second annual Albie Awards.
As for Blunt, she's credited the film for a noticeable upgrade to her wardrobe.
"I didn't know enough in any way about the fashion industry going into that movie," she told Variety in November 2023 while playing a game that tested her memory of her former movie scripts.
"I think I'd just been dressing like a teenage boy until that happened, and I learned a lot," Blunt joked.
