Elton John is opening up about his kids' famous godmother.

While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, Dec. 17, the "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" singer, 77, was asked whether or not he sang to his two sons – Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, whom he shares with husband David Furnish — when they were younger.

"We sang them to bed. We read them stories every night, even when they couldn't understand what we were saying. It was a ritual that we held them," he said.

"Gaga, who's their godmother, used to come and bathe them and sing them to bed," John said of singer Lady Gaga, 38.

The musician shared a similar sentiment when speaking with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts in an interview on Dec. 11.

"My music speaks for itself," he said. "My legacy is that I was a great husband and an even better father... The music, the career is fantastic."

"It's been mind-blowing, groundbreaking. But the most important thing to me in my life is making sure my children are happy, they have a wonderful life and that I was good to them. That's all that counts," he added.
