Drew Afualo Reveals 1 Pre-Wedding Tradition She and Her Fiancé Want to Avoid: 'Not Really Our Vibe' (Exclusive)

Two months after announcing her engagement, the podcast host spoke to PEOPLE about what fans can expect in the lead-up to her nuptials with Pili Tanuvasa
On her social media platforms and podcast, Drew Afualo is nothing if not true to herself. And as she gears up to marry her fiancé Pili Tanuvasa, the influencer is following that same ethos of authenticity every step of the way.
While speaking to PEOPLE about her collaborations with the NBA and banking app Chime, Afualo shared a sneak peek into her wedding planning agenda, though she says she's "very, very private" when it comes to that part of her life. The Comment Section podcast host notes that she's not sure how much of the process she'll share with her 9 million followers across Instagram and TikTok.
"Whatever I choose to share will be a pleasant surprise for all of us," says Afualo, who got engaged to fitness and lifestyle coach Tanuvasa on Sept. 2. "As far as wedding planning content, I don't foresee that in the future because that's not really what I talk about now. I'm not really a lifestyle girl, but if I do share stuff I'm sure it'll be fun for all of us."
One things fans definitely won't see from Afualo? A classic, all-girls bachelorette party. Her husband-to-be won't be having a standard bachelor weekend either.
"We just don't really vibe with that kind of energy. That's not really our vibe," the content creator tells PEOPLE. "Instead, I think what we'll do is just go on a huge vacation with our wedding party together. We've already kind of planned on doing that, and I think it's just kind of what we feel, what we love we're going to do."
Afualo — who made her name slamming misogynistic behavior online — says she does not "feel beholden" to the more traditional wedding practices, but she doesn't have "any icks" when it comes to the nuptials of others.

"Weddings in general are so specific to the person and what people love and what they want. I don't think I'll ever poo poo anything, specifically if other people do it," explains the Loud: Accept Nothing Less Than the Life You Deserve author.
It's the same simple philosophy she and Tanuvasa are keeping in mind as they dream up their own wedding: "We're just going to do what we love and what we want, and I think that's beautiful," says Afualo.
