Denise Richards' 3 Kids: All About Daughters Sami, Lola and Eloise

'Wild Things' star Denise Richards is proud of her three children

Denise Richards has played a lot of different characters in her life, but her favorite role is being a mom to her three kids: Sami, Lola and Eloise.

"I'm most proud of raising my kids, especially in a time that is very different from how I was raised," Richards told PEOPLE in 2019. "It's extremely hard to keep children grounded. This is not an easy time to grow up."

Richards and her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, welcomed their daughter Sami in 2004 and their daughter Lola the following year. TheReal Housewives of Beverly Hills alum is also a mother to daughter Eloise, whom she welcomed via adoption in 2011. Her husband, Aaron Phypers, began the process of legally adopting Eloise following their surprise Malibu wedding in 2018.

After being featured on RHOBH, the family plans to bring their lives to the screen again with a new E! reality series, Denise Richards and the Wild Things. Richards told Tori Spelling on her misSPELLING podcast that her daughters are "excited" about participating in the docuseries, which will premiere in 2025.

"We had several meetings and talking, and, so we're doing that now," she said. "I was very proud of the girls that they were asking so many questions, that they really wanted to be involved in now."

Sami Sheen, 20

Richards and her then-husband Sheen welcomed their elder daughter, Sami Sheen, on March 9, 2004.

When her mom joined the cast of RHOBH, Sami also appeared on the show, which included scenes of them disagreeing over rules, like when she could start dating.

While their mother-daughter relationship has had its ups and downs — in February 2022, Richards told Jeff Lewis on his SiriusXM show that they had a "strained relationship" — the actress has supported Sami's ventures, including her decision to join OnlyFans.

"I have to say, I wish I had the confidence my 18 yr old daughter has. And I also can't be judgmental of her choices," Richards wrote in a statement on Instagram in June 2022. "I did Wild Things & Playboy."

She went on to praise Sami for her "ability to be able to shut out the noise." Richards continued, "And to be able to ignore the negativity at her age? It took me many years & I still sometimes struggle."

In an Instagram Stories Q&A, Sami shared she made an account on the predominantly adult content subscription platform to advocate for body positivity. "Only thing that matters is making sure you're comfortable with what your posting & remembering that all bodies are beautiful," she wrote.

In a separate slide, Sami noted that her mom had been "extremely supportive." Shortly after, Richards also joined OnlyFans.

Aside from her career, Sami is also a big music fan: She went to the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and has posted about attending Coachella over the years.

Sami occasionally shares snaps of her mom, including when they travel together. As for Richards' part, she enjoys celebrating her oldest daughter on special occasions. In honor of Sami's birthday in March 2024, the Vanity star posted throwback pictures of them alongside a heartfelt message.

"Happy 20th birthday my beautiful Sami girl🌸 I love you so much & I'm so proud of you," Richards wrote. "You're as beautiful inside & have been a wise soul since the day you were born. I love you so much and I'm beyond grateful & blessed to be your mom."

Lola Rose Sheen, 19

Richards gave birth to her and Sheen's daughter, Lola Rose Sheen, on June 1, 2005.

When she was six months pregnant with her second daughter, Richards filed for divorce from Sheen, who had recently relapsed from a drug and alcohol addiction. As the years passed and Sheen worked on his sobriety, the pair had an easier time co-parenting.

Now, humor is a large part of Lola's relationship with her father. In 2017, the Two and a Half Men actor shared a car selfie of them on Instagram, joking that he wasn't ready for Lola to be behind the wheel just yet.

"Good thing we're‬ ‪not in the U.K.,‬ ‪or my adorable‬ ‪and ebullient ‬‪11 year old daughter,‬ ‪Lola,‬ ‪[would] be driving!‬" Sheen wrote.

Throughout the years, Richards has opened up about raising her children to understand boundaries, rules and consequences. She told PEOPLE in 2019 that she tries "to follow a lot of the stuff that my parents instilled in me and my sister."

While this has meant that the actress has occasionally had disagreements with her kids, she knows it's worth it in the long run.

"My father said, 'It might be challenging right now, but when she's an adult, you are going to be so grateful because she is going to be one strong woman,' " Richards recalled.

Like her older sister, Lola loves music and horseback riding. In June 2024, she posted a carousel of photos from a Zach Bryan concert, and she often shares about her latest rides.

In honor of Lola's 19th birthday in June 2024, Richards posted a sweet tribute to her daughter.

"Happy birthday my Lola!!! I love you so much & I am so proud of you. I can't believe you are 19!" she wrote on Instagram. "You have a heart so compassionate with unconditional love. I love you so much my loleee you are such an angel to all of us."

Eloise Joni Richards, 13

Richards welcomed her daughter Eloise Joni Richards via adoption after her birth in May 2011.

"I felt like I wasn't done having children, and I've always wanted to have a large family," Richards told PEOPLE in 2012. "And so after my divorce I felt like, 'Oh well, I'm sure I'll soon enough get remarried and have my family [grow],' and that wasn't in the cards at the time, so I decided to expand my family on my own."

Several years later, while appearing on The Talk in 2019, she revealed that her husband, Phypers, was in the process of adopting her youngest daughter.

Richards has also been open about Eloise's chromosomal disorder that "has caused a lot of developmental delays for her."

The mom of three told PEOPLE that she sought a professional's opinion after baby Eloise wasn't reaching typical milestones for her age range. In 2016, Eloise was diagnosed with a deletion in chromosome 8.

"She wasn't able to sit up on her own for a very long time, and she didn't start walking until she was 2, and that was with physical therapy," Richards explained.

The Twisted alum has continued to share glimpses into Eloise's childhood, including funny moments between them. In April 2024, Richards posted a cooking video on Instagram that featured Eloise poking fun at how much her mom talks.
