Bijou Phillips is in love once again.

The 44-year-old actress stepped out for a date night with her boyfriend Jamie Mazur at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Thursday, Jan. 2, and the pair looked cozy together as they rocked coordinated leather jacket looks on their way out of the starry restaurant.

The date night comes more than a year after Phillips filed to divorce her husband of 12 years, Danny Masterson, following his 30-year-to-life prison sentence for raping two women in September 2023, and a source close to the new couple tells PEOPLE it's "real" between them.

"They've been together since the summer and he's so in love," the insider says of Mazur, 43, whose relationship with Phillips was confirmed in June.

A source previously told PEOPLE that Phillips met Mazur "through friends" after she "had a hard time" following Masterson's guilty verdict.

"He was initially just a confidant and someone safe that she could talk to," the source said of the entrepreneur. "They've been dating for a couple of months now. He's added a spark to her life. She seems much happier and more relaxed lately."

"It's nice to see that Bijou also takes care of herself too," the source continued. "It's great to see her smiling more."

Phillips' date night with Mazur — who shares daughter Anja, 16, and son Noah, 12, with ex Alessandra Ambrosio — follows her ex's Dec. 18 filing to overturn his rape conviction.

The That '70s Show alum's lawyers alleged there were "two fundamental flaws" in his convictions, one being that "the trial was rife with erroneous judicial rulings that skewed the jury's view of the evidence against him" and that "there was a stunning amount of exculpatory evidence which was never presented to the jury."

When Masterson was found guilty of two counts of rape in May 2023, a source told PEOPLE that Phillips, who'd been by his side during the trial, "never expected him to be found guilty" and was "terrified about the sentencing," but had "no plans to leave him."

Four months later, he was sentenced to 30 years to life and she filed for divorce.

"This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family," her lawyer Peter A. Lauzon told PEOPLE in a statement. "Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter.
