DANCING On Ice professional Colin Grafton has revealed why his skate partner Mollie Pearce's injury has helped them gain an advantage.

American skater Colin reached the final in 2023 and will be hoping to go one better in 2025 with The Traitors star Mollie.

However, the pair suffered a setback recently after Mollie suffered an injury in training that took her off the ice for a month.

But rather than twiddle their thumbs on the sidelines, the pair decided to work on other aspects to give them a competitive edge.

Colin told The Sun that they spent a lot of time on the floor working on their choreography.

And they also spent time together visiting Mollie’s family, which really bonded them as a dance partnership.

"At first we were a bit upset about it, but then we were like, you know what, this is what the cards we’ve been out and onwards and upwards,” said Colin.

“So we trained every single day in the dance studio in front of the mirrors and on the floor.

“And as frustrating as it was to not be on the ice because obviously she has to learn to skate still.

“We worked on things sort of in reverse order, so we worked on lines and extensions and facials and all that stuff and then when we got back on the ice, we saw how much that helped us.

“So we kind of did things in reverse, but I think in the end game, it’s actually gonna be really beneficial."

Now, with the show just weeks away, Colin and Mollie can’t wait to put their hard work into play on the ice.

The 2025 lineup includes Coronation Street‘s Sam Aston, Eastenders star Charlie Brooks, The Only Way is Essex‘s Dan Edgar, Hollyoaks star Chelsee Healey, stand-up comedian Josh Jones, reality TV star Ferne McCann, and footballer Anton Ferdinand.

Mollie rose to fame on The Traitors, which is back on air on Thursday, January 9.

She made it to the final of the Claudia Winkleman fronted show, and she now hopes to skate her way to glory in Dancing On Ice.

The 17th series of Dancing on Ice starts on Sunday 12 January, at 6.45pm.
