S'mores Blizzard

It's official! Dairy Queen's S'mores Blizzard is coming back by popular demand.

Earlier this month, Dairy Queen fans were given the opportunity to vote for a treat to make a comeback. On Friday, Dec. 20, the ice cream chain announced the marshmallow-packed dessert came out on top.

Customers were allowed to vote on the return of one of three Blizzard flavors that had been placed in the "DQ Freezer," the brand's metaphorical spot for retired flavors: S'mores, Georgia Mud Fudge or Cappuccino Heath.

The winning Blizzard blends marshmallow-filled chocolate bars and graham crackers with vanilla soft serve. It was first available in 2013 and has ping-ponged on and off menus over the last decade. The campfire-inspired Blizzard will return in April 2025 — and DQ enthusiasts have been making their joy heard.

"The people have spoken! Praise be!" one fan commented on Dairy Queen's announcement of the 2025 comeback flavor. Another enthusiastic commenter wrote: We've been praying for this."

In November, Dairy Queen also announced the return of two holiday favorites: the Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard and Frozen Hot Chocolate. Both festive treats were added to the menu on Nov. 25.

Dairy Queen isn't the only fast-food chain that's bringing back nostalgic classics.

Earlier this month, Burger King announced the return of their flame-grilled BK Melts and BK Churro Fries. But those items were only available for a limited time, and they left the fast-food chain's menu on Dec. 19.

McDonalds also teased the return of a fan-favorite menu item: the Snack Wrap.

During an interview with Good Morning America on Thursday, Dec. 5, McDonald's USA president Joe Erlinger confirmed that the once-discontinued menu favorite will be making a return in 2025.

The original Snack Wrap — which consisted of chicken, lettuce and shredded cheese in a tortilla, with either ranch or honey mustard — was previously discontinued in 2016. The product first hit McDonald's menus across the country in 2006.
