Las Vegas locals rallied together to rescue a stranded kitten from an overpass.

According to UPI, the kitten, later named Little Helix, recently became stuck on the railing of a highway overpass in downtown Las Vegas and remained there for over three weeks.

Nathalie of animal welfare group Amor Peludo wrote in a Facebook post on March 13 that after seeing a community post about the trapped kitten, she "immediately" contacted her friend Lizzie Fuchs, whose dad, Victor Fuchs, is the president and CEO of Helix Electric.

"As soon as they called me, I drove myself over there," Lizzie told Fox 5. "I dropped everything because I was like, I've got to see this cat that's on top of this overpass, and maybe I'll be prepared to catch him if he falls.'

Helix Electric helped Lizzie and Nathalie rescue the overwhelmed feline using an elevating work platform. The Nevada-based company is now the young kitten's namesake.

Lizzie added that locals who lived near the overpass and knew about the kitten's predicament told her they had been calling and trying to rescue the cat for three weeks. When he was finally safe, "all the neighbors came out, and the moms were crying."

According to Amor Peludo, the rescue "wouldn't have been possible" without Helix Electric's coordination and equipment, which included a boom lift and two nets.

"It was amazing. Yeah, I've never been part of a cat rescue," Troy McTeer, a division manager for Helix Electric, told Fox 5. "Just dropped everything else going on and went and got me a kitty."

Amor Peludo also shared that Little Helix is "now safe" at Boca Park Animal Hospital under the care of Dr. Morgan Spaulding.

Dr. Spaulding told Fox 5 that Little Helix is "one of the lucky ones" because she would normally expect an animal in his situation to be hit by a car or sustain more injuries.

The vet said, "He was dehydrated, he's very thin, but overall, I think he's a pretty tough guy."

Amor Peludo wrote on social media that their next steps include finding Little Helix "an amazing home" and returning to the area to search for his mother and siblings, who are "very likely" still out there.
