Christina Haack's Boyfriend Christopher Speaks for the First Time About the Chaotic Day Their Relationship Was Outed

"My head was on a swivel that day," the HGTV star's new boyfriend, Christopher Larocca, said of the moment their relationship went public back in January

Christina Haack's boyfriend Christopher Larocca is speaking out for the first time about their relationship.

The HGTV star, 41, and her new beau recalled the chaotic day their romance went public during a March 27 appearance on SiriusXM's Radio Andy. On the day their romance was "outed," the pair decided to do an impromptu coffee reading at a dress shop in Los Angeles — but the results of the fortune-telling practice did not end up in Larocca's favor. 

"I was not in Chris' cup," Christina shares, to which Larocca responds: "To be fair, I was having a very bad day and I think that's why the grounds were not showing up in the cup."

Providing more details as to why the day was not going as planned, the businessman says there was a lot more going on for him than just an unfavorable coffee reading.

"I had a lot of things going on," he continues. "My head was on a swivel that day. It wasn't so much the reading, it was everything going on that day."

Chiming in, Christina notes, "We got outed that day," prompting Larocca to recall the frenzy of attention he received after their relationship news went public. 

"I had paparazzi calling me. I had reporters calling me. I had a lot of things going on that day and the last thing I wanted to do was a coffee reading in Beverly Hills at a dress shop," he says.

PEOPLE confirmed in January that Christina was dating Larocca six months after her highly publicized breakup with her third husband Josh Hall. The Tennessee-based real estate professional officially filed for divorce from Christina in July 2024, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. He also requested spousal support, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Before Josh, Christina was previously married to her first husband and Flip Off costar, Tarek El Moussa, 43, from 2009 to 2016. She was then married to her second husband, British automotive expert and TV host, Ant Anstead, 46, from 2018 to 2020. 

The Christina on the Coast star shares daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9, with Tarek, as well as son Hudson, 5, with Anstead.

Christina finally hard-launched her romance with Larocca in February by sharing a photo of her sitting on his lap as the pair traveled on a private jet. She captioned the series of snaps from their journey: "Some plane flights must be hard posted."

Earlier this month, it was revealed by Christina's Flip Off costar Heather Rae El Moussa — who is married to Tarek and stepmom to his and Christina's two kids — that Larocca has spent time with their blended family.

"We've gone to dinner with them a couple of times, and he's come to some kid things, and I'd say, so far I like him. I have nothing negative to say about him, and she seems happy," Heather told Realtor.com.
