Elena Dubaich is conciously, or subconciously trying to step into the role of Chief Stew. The actual head of command, Aesha Scott, is not taking kindly to the overstepping. In a sneak peek for the Season 9 finale, Ellie kept on delegating tasks to floater, Carrie O'Neill, despite Aesha giving contradicting direction.
