The Atlanta Falcons quarterback proposed to his girlfriend Olivia Carter on Christmas Eve, the couple announced on Dec. 29. The pair shared sweet photos from their special night in a joint Instagram post.
Penix's proposal included tons of red roses, a collection of red candles and giant block letters that spelled "MARRY ME." Carter carried a massive bouquet of roses as she and Penix approached the sign.
"the sweetest love ❤️ Olivia and Michael 12.24.2024," they captioned the post.
Their engagement saw an outpouring of support from friends, family and fans in the comments.
In a solo post, also shared on Dec. 29, Penix shared a video of the proposal setup. The quarterback waited by the big letters while Carter approached, appearing more excited with each step. He handed her the bouquet and began to pop the question.
"I want you to know, I love you with all my heart," he said to Carter in the video, before getting on one knee. "I told you I'd love you forever. I promise you, I will."
After Carter gleefully said yes, loved ones joined them to celebrate the couple.
