I’M A Celeb star Alan Halsall’s ex wife Lucy-Jo Hudson has landed a brand new TV role after her Hollyoaks exit.
The actress, who played Donna-Marie Quinn on the Channel 4 soap, revealed that she’s already filming for a new show.
Lucy-Jo, 41, who split from Coronation Street actor Alan, 42, in 2018, shared a photo from her on set dressing room.
She posted a picture of her posing in the mirror with the script in her hand.
But the TV star has cleverly hid the title page, which prompted many fans to speculate what show she would be appearing in.
Lucy captioned it: “Back Filming again.
“I feel so blessed that i get to do a job that I genuinely love, 25 years in the biz and I still don't take it for granted.”
Lucy, who shares daughter Sienna-Rae, 10, with Alan, noted that juggling motherhood and work pressures can be hard.
She added: “It’s not always easy juggling kids, work, and everything in between, but every second is worth it.
“Feeling so grateful for this crazy, beautiful life.”
Many fans were desperate to know what Lucy-Jo will be starring in.
One eager follower wrote: “Brilliant news.. So happy for you. Is it going to be on terrestrial TV? Don’t worry I’m not fishing for info. Its just otherwise i wont be able to watch it . I’ll keep an eye out for it though.”
A second posted: “Is this same thing you have been working on? Spill the beans please.”
A third commented: “Yes yes yes Lucy. So happy to see you doing what you love. Enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing you on screen soon.”
Her Hollyoaks character exited the soap in September 2023 after the death of her daughter, Juliet Nightingale, from cancer.
Shortly after leaving, Lucy-Jo revealed her other “side hustle” of being a travel agent.
She announced the news on Instagram alongside a glamorous photo of herself posing in the women’s loos on a night out.
She said: “In my industry, it’s not easy.
“I could audition for 8 job and get none, yet I could fall into a job next week, or I might not work for 6 months!
“It’s not easy but I continue to push as I love nothing more than acting!
“But while I’m in limbo, I have decided I need a side hustle. Something that will fit around the kids, that I can take on the road when I’m going to London for castings, something I can keep working on while I get an acting role I love.
“And I’ve found the perfect thing! Does anyone else fancy working from home earning an extra income? Watch this space! #LJsTravelClub.”
Lucy-Jo nd Alan met while on the set of Coronation Street.
Alan, who had been on the soap for four years by this time, instantly struck up a friendship with the actress.
This soon turned to romance, and by 2004 they had started dating.
Their time working together came to an end in 2005 when Lucy-Jo was killed off, but they continued their relationship away from the cobbles.
The pair didn’t wait long to get married and tied the knot in June 2009 and welcomed their first child together in 2013.
In May 2018, Lucy-Jo and Alan shocked fans when they announced they were getting divorced.
Their marriage had reportedly been struggling for some time, and saw them split in 2016, before getting back together.
A source told The Sun at the time: "It's very amicable but they've decided to go their separate ways.
"Alan's been joking that he's having a mid-life crisis and he went and treated himself to a brand new car five days ago. It's a difficult time for both of them.
"They're devastated the marriage is over but have vowed to stay friends. They still really care for each other."
Following their split announcement, Lucy revealed: “I can confirm Al and I are in the process of divorcing. We remain friends and devoted Mummy and Daddy to our daughter Sienna.”
Lucy-Jo and Alan were previously said to have had an “amicable split”.
However in November 2024, as Alan headed into the I’m A Celebrity jungle, it was reported they are now “barely speaking” to each other.
An insider told The Sun: "Alan and Lucy-Jo still aren't on speaking terms.
"If Alan needs anything he goes through her boyfriend Lewis (Devine).
“They both want what's best for their daughter Sienna but they won't communicate.
“Things are just as bad as when they first fell out.
"Alan still has a few issues with how things played out between them when they split."
Since 2018, Lucy-Jo has been in a relationship with Lewis Devine, who she met when she was doing panto.
Meanwhile, Alan found love with former co-star Tisha Merry.
They were together for five years until 2024 before they called time on their romance.
