ONE of Haven’s top holiday parks is found in the “Lakeland Riviera” in the UK.

Grange-over-Sands is often overlooked by tourists heading to the Lake District – just seven miles from Windemere around 4,000 people live there.

And the Haven park is just outside the main town, with the train line a short walk away.

The holiday park has a huge lake in the middle of the resort, which is where guests can take advantage of water sports.

This includes paddle-boarding, kayaking and pedalos.

Den building, kart hires, archery, NERF camps and a new mini aerial adventure are all at the park, as well as restaurants and bars.

There is both an indoor and outdoor swimmingpool, no matter the weather.

People raved about the lakeside location, with one saying: “I had a lodge on Elterwater lake and it was bliss.”

Another said: “Lovely park set in arguably the most beautiful place in England.”

If you want to explore the nearby area, Grange-over-Sands has been dubbed the Lakeland Riviera, due to its microclimate.

One of the popular attractions is Holker Hall and Gardens, a stately home with gardens and deer park.

One person said: “We all agreed that Holker Hall is our favourite stately home or castle that we have ever visited.”

There is also the Ornamental Gardens otherwise the promenade is where the best views are, overlooking Morecambe bay.

The town used to have an Art Deco lido, with the 50 metre pool opening in 1932.

Sadly it closed back in 1993, although a new £6.8million campaign hopes to restore it not as a lido but a “multi-use public space”.

The town has its own Grange-over-Sands train station, once named the best small railway station in the UK.

This is in large part to the amazing coastal views with the sea right behind the platform.

There are some other great Haven holiday parks to choose from around the country.

Haven’s highest rated holiday park is in Norfolk, with Hopton Holiday Park ranked highly by guests.

The biggest Haven holiday park is Devon Cliffs.

And we went down to the Haven holiday park right by the beach.
