Why Bethenny Frankel's Review of Melissa Gorga's Sprinkle Cookies Made Me Laugh

Cookie Monster would be so disappointed if he knew reality stars had been fighting over cookies. Real Housewives of New Jersey enemies Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice have never liked each other. And they didn't need to fight over a cookie to prove their disdain. Even Santa could have noted that the two women would be on the naughty list for a while. But here we are, almost ten years later, and fans are still talking about their epic sprinkle cookie fueed. Bethenny Frankel is getting in on the action as she rated and reviewed Melissa's new venture.
Bethenny Frankel gives two thumbs up
With a heavy New York accent, Bethenny came in hot as she shared that Melissa had sent her a promo package for her new brand of sprinkle cookies. The former Real Housewives of New York star told followers, "Melissa brought me sprinkle cookies. She's an Italian from Jersey. She ain't scared. I said, 'You don't want an honest review? Don't send 'em.' Guess what? Joe and Melissa, they ain't scared." Okay, readers, I have to admit. I enjoyed this review way more than I should have because it was entertaining as hell.
Being a savvy businesswoman herself, Bethenny noted that she loved the personal touch of sending a card with Melissa's face on it. B also acknowledged that Melissa went a step further as she had put "Sprinkle Cookies by Melissa Gorga" on the ribbon box, calling it a "wonderful touch." Holding the card up to the camera, she said, "I never know who it is from. Sometimes, I toss the card. I know what this is now."
Bethenny Frankel's thought on the sprinkle cookie
The former Bravo star moved right along as she pointed out, "I like the box, the way that it opens. First of all, it's aesthetically pleasing. It's beautiful. But it's organized. A lot of these cookie companies — Crumbl — cookies are jamming into each other. This is nice. Quadrants? I'd pay more for that." Bethenny continued. "And I like the fact that you can see her cookies from the window. That's aesthetically pleasing." The mother of one also went on to compliment the co-packer, who, fans learned, is the private label baker.
Next up was the fateful taste test. And let's remember Tre once called the cookies "dry." Bethenny's one and only criticism was that Melissa's cookies needed "more sprinkles," but she liked the texture "a lot," noting it was chewy with a crunch. Bethenny added, "It's got a crisp, chew, and no sog. The sprinkles have a crunch. Some sprinkles have a wax. These sprinkles have a crunch. The taste? There's a little almond in the back. I'm getting a little bit of a rainbow cookie in the back, and I like it because I think she said, 'My own version of her favorite sprinkle …' Okay, so she did her own twist. I think it's solid. Really good."
Bethenny Frankel's review was actually honest
As I watched the video, I found myself smiling a lot. Bethenny is a lot of things, but she isn't a liar. She fairly and honestly gave her opinions on the cookies. And for $29.99 for a box of 12, I didn't want to be lied to. Bethenny keeps her shtick going and even adds her employees to the mix for yet another opinion. Even though at times, I felt like I was in the cookie version of Blair Witch due to the camera constantly jumping around, it added to the viewing experience. While I still don't think I'd choose a sprinkle cookie as my first choice, Bethenny had me thinking.
Whether it is food, makeup, or designer clothes, Bethenny has a knack for reviewing items with a twist. I laughed hard when she introduced her helper, Vicki "who is Albanian, which is like Italian. It's next door. And they eat a lot of Italian food." Without a doubt, Bethenny took her review seriously, and she probably helped Melissa get a massive number of orders. I am not ashamed to say I watched this video at least three times, and every time, it gets a little bit funnier.
The Real Housewives of New York returns on December 31 to Bravo. Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently streaming on Peacock.
